OTTAWA, Ill. — The parents of two brothers from Ottawa are facing charges of contributing alcohol to the delinquency of a minor and obstructing justice, both of which are felonies punishable with up to three years in jail.

Nathan Sellers, 41, and Rosalba Sellers, 58, were charged after authorities discovered that their 18-year-old son, Antonio, was illegally consuming alcohol provided by his 22-year-old brother, Angel Sellers. The incident occurred at Starved Rock on Sunday, which led to a missing person report and ultimately resulted in Angel falling about 100 feet and being severely injured.  Angel had to be life-flighted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Antonio is also facing charges of obstructing justice, a felony punishable with up to three years in jail, and illegal consumption of alcohol. Angel is facing charges of contributing alcohol to the delinquency of a minor.

The incident left Angel unable to speak with rescue workers using GPS technology to “ping” his phone, ultimately leading to the rescue.
