OTTAWA, IL – Angel Sellers, a 22-year-old Ottawa resident, was airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after a fall at Starved Rock State Park on Sunday.

According to Conservation Police, Sellers was reported missing early Sunday and was later found in Hennepin Canyon after authorities “pinged” his phone. He had a broken arm and other injuries and was able to yell to police for help. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

It’s currently believes Sellers fell and then walked along the river and into the Canyon. If he had fallen overhead from where he was found, it could have been fatal. Fire and EMS crews repelled down to reach Sellers.

This incident follows the tragic death of a 20-year-old woman from Addison, Illinois, who was found by two hikers dead at the bottom of Wildcat Canyon in the same park earlier in April.

Visitors to Starved Rock State Park are reminded to be cautious and follow all park rules and guidelines to ensure their safety.

Sellers’ condition is currently unknown.
