DYER, Ind. – The Dyer Police Department responded to a complaint this week about juveniles climbing on the roof of the pavilion at Northgate Park.

The department is now urging parents to keep their children off the roof of the structure, stating that it is not a playground.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of children and the potential damage to town property. The department is encouraging residents to report any person(s) they see on the roof who are not obviously employed by the Town of Dyer or who are improperly using any town property.

Residents are encouraged to call 911 if they witness any suspicious activity. It is important to keep the community safe and preserve the property for everyone’s enjoyment.

Parents are reminded to keep a close eye on their children and ensure they are following proper safety protocols when visiting the park. While it may seem like harmless fun, climbing on the roof of the pavilion can lead to serious injuries.
