Fisherman in Critical Condition After being shot in the face in Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – A 23-year-old fisherman is fighting for his life after being shot in the face while walking back to his car in Albany Park. 

The incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3100 block of West Carmen Avenue.

According to the police report, the victim, whose identity has not been released, was approached by several unknown men as he was returning to his vehicle parked near the north branch of the Chicago River. The assailants opened fire, hitting the young man in the face before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he remains in critical condition. As of yet, no suspects have been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
