Park Forest, IL – A large house party in the 100 block of Fir Street turned deadly in the early hours of Friday, April 7, 2023, when multiple individuals opened fire, leaving one dead and three injured.
According to the Park Forest Police Department, responding officers found a chaotic scene with several individuals fleeing the area. The altercation between attendees of the house party culminated in multiple individuals shooting firearms. 29-year-old Ladarius Williams, of Chicago, was found dead inside the residence, apparently killed by multiple gunshots.
Three other individuals were struck by gunfire, including a 19-year-old from Waukegan and a 28-year-old from Chicago who were transported to local hospitals and then transferred to a Chicago area trauma center in critical condition. Both victims have undergone surgery and remain hospitalized. A 22-year-old from Chicago was treated by paramedics at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
The Park Forest Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force members are actively investigating the incident, with assistance from the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit. Several firearms were recovered from the scene, and several vehicles in the area were also struck by gunfire during the incident.
