Frankfort Garage Fire Results in $75,000 Property Loss Sunday

FRANKFORT, IL – Frankfort Fire Protection District responded to a garage fire late Sunday morning in the 21100 block of River Road. 

The first company arrived at the scene just five minutes later, finding a 30’×30′ outbuilding fully engulfed in flames.

Thanks to a quick response, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to the occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with an estimated property loss of $75,000.

Assistance was provided by several neighboring fire departments, including Mokena, New Lenox, Tinley Park, Monee, and Matteson. Residents are advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or hazards that could lead to fire outbreaks.
