BOURBONNAIS, IL – A dedicated 10-year-old Girl Scout named Bristol, from Mazon, has once again warmed the hearts of local first responders by donating over 22,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Bristol, accompanied by her troop from Grundy County, has made it a yearly tradition to give back to the community’s heroes, including police officers, firefighters, deputies, and emergency personnel.

Bristol’s mother, Marie Sjostrom, shared the inspiring news in a recent TikTok video, where she expressed her daughter’s commitment to serving hometown heroes. “Bristol hand delivers every donated box of Girl Scout cookies she receives each year,” Sjostrom explained. “She doesn’t keep a single box for herself. Instead, she expands her reach beyond Illinois, even venturing to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee to honor more heroes.”

The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District expressed their gratitude for Bristol’s exceptional generosity. “This afternoon, we received another surprise Girl Scout Cookie drop-off from Bristol, who resides in Mazon. Bristol sold an incredible 22,000 boxes of cookies, allowing us to provide a box to every police officer, firefighter, dispatcher, and ER department personnel in Northern Illinois!” they announced. Bristol’s ambition for next year is to surpass the Girl Scouts’ record of 34,000 boxes sold.

Not only does Bristol brighten the days of first responders with her cookie donations, but she also aims to raise funds for purchasing equipment to aid injured first responders. Her troop, alongside her, is devoted to supporting the heroes who risk their lives for the community’s well-being.

The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department expressed their appreciation, stating, “A big thanks to Bristol and all of the Mazon Troop Girl Scouts from Grundy County for delivering boxes of Girl Scout cookies to our officers. We deeply appreciate their thoughtfulness.”

To keep up with Bristol’s inspiring journey and witness her heartfelt interactions with first responders, interested individuals can follow her on TikTok (@mariesjostrom), Facebook Reels (Marie Sjostrom), and her Facebook page, “Bristol’s Cookie Journey.”

Bristol’s unwavering dedication and compassion serve as a shining example to all, reminding us of the profound impact a single individual can make. Through her acts of kindness, she not only brings joy to the heroes who protect and serve but also spreads a message of gratitude and appreciation.

As Bristol continues her mission to support and uplift first responders, the entire community stands behind her, cheering her on as she strives to break records and make a lasting positive impact on the lives of those who selflessly serve others.
