Kankakee County: Violent Winds Near 100 mph Forecast for Late Tuesday Night

Kankakee County, IL – Severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit Kankakee County this evening, bringing the potential for destructive winds and dangerous weather conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Central Illinois, winds between 75 and 90 mph are expected between 7 PM and 1 AM CDT. These storms may produce destructive winds capable of causing significant damage, as well as numerous tornadoes. Residents are urged to stay alert for warnings and have multiple ways to receive them, including NOAA weather radios and wireless emergency alerts on their phones.
