Tentatively beginning April 1, 2019 – no, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke – the St. George Road (5000N Rd) overpass will be closed to all through traffic. The joint project with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Kankakee County Highway Department and the Village of Bourbonnaiswill be replacing the overpass with a new structure that is both motorist AND pedestrian-friendly.

The project is tentatively-scheduled to be completed in this construction season (weather-permitting). Motorists are asked to please plan accordingly. Alternative route suggestions = Larry Power Road and Bourbonnais Parkway.
