NAPERVILLE, IL – Emergency responders from Naperville Fire Department (NFD) and Naperville Police Department (NPD) swiftly sprang into action today at 3:54 pm following a 911 call reporting a possible person in the water at Quarry Lake, located across the street from Naperville Central High School.

NFD Engine-1 promptly responded to the scene after shoes were reportedly found in the water, sparking concerns of a potential drowning. Divers from NFD and mutual aid units including Aurora Dive 23, Dive Team 16, Lisle Woodridge Dive 52, Warrenville Divers, and Downers Grove Medic 102, as well as IMAT 16, Lisle Woodridge Battalion 52, and Bolingbrook Battalion 1, conducted an extensive search of the water and surrounding area.

However, after a thorough investigation, NFD confirmed that the call was unfounded, and no person was found in the water. The search and rescue operation was called off just before 7pm and all units have since cleared the scene.

Residents are urged to cooperate with emergency personnel and avoid the area during such operations for the safety of all involved.
