Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Chicago, Suspects Apprehended in New Lenox Carjacking Case

NEW LENOX, Ill. – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a carjacking that occurred Tuesday morning. An Uber driver was hospitalized following that attack.

According to New Lenox Police, Illinois State Police pursued the stolen Hyundai involved in a carjacking in Chicago’s Lawndale Neighborhood Tuesday.  Three juveniles, including one male and two females, along with an 18-year-old adult male, fled from the vehicle but were successfully apprehended.

Both males, an adult and a juvenile, were taken into custody following the stop.  Both girls were released pending further investigation. The Hyundai was recovered and is now being processing for evidence.

No official charges have been filed yet regarding the New Lenox incident, as the investigation remains ongoing.
