PORTER, IN – A man involved in a swimming incident at an Indiana Beach has died.
According to Porter Police Department, emergency crews were dispatched to Porter Beach around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a 14-year-old female and the 18-year-old male in distress while swimming. A witness managed to rescue the teenage girl from the water, but the young man remained submerged for approximately 20 minutes before being brought ashore.
Despite CPR efforts of first responders and medical professionals, the 18-year-old’s condition did not improve, and he ultimately succumbed to the incident.
The teenage girl was also transported to a nearby hospital, where she is currently reported to be in stable condition. Indiana State Police Conservation Officers will be conducting an investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
