WATSEKA – Cell service is down after an optic fiber was struck Monday afternoon.

According to the Watseka Fire Department, a optic fiber cable was struck and knocked service out to the community.  It’s currently unknown when service will be restored.

“At this time 911 will not work,” Fire officials said in a statement this afternoon. Officials ask if you need emergency services to come to the station directly during this time.
