WATSEKA, IL – The Watseka Police Department is sounding the alarm as they warn residents about a recent scam involving the theft of medication.

The scam unfolded Friday when two young white women, believed to be in their twenties, targeted a senior citizen at her residence. Posing as members of a medical group, the deceitful duo convinced the unsuspecting victim that they were conducting a double-check on her prescriptions.

The criminals then made off with the victim’s medication in an unspecified vehicle.

Officers are urging residents to take proactive measures to secure their medications and to only grant access to their prescriptions to individuals they trust implicitly. If anyone soliciting medication approaches, it is crucial to contact the police immediately.
