Herscher, IL — Brace yourself, Herscher residents! If you hear what sounds like a roaring 747 taking off later today, don’t panic – it’s likely just the pipes. The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office has issued a notice alerting locals to pipeline testing scheduled for Tuesday morning, August 8th.

However, be prepared for a significantly louder experience than usual. Authorities have compared the anticipated noise levels to that of a prolonged 747 takeoff, far exceeding the typical sounds of pipelines situated south of Herscher. To ensure safety and address any concerns, law enforcement and fire agencies have been briefed about the test.

Curious minds and concerned citizens can direct their questions to the Herscher Police Department at 815.426.2440.
