BRADLEY, IL. – The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department was swift to quashed any social media rumors regarding the death of an inmate at the Jerome Combs Detention Center Tuesday.
Reports claiming that Anthony Gulley, the accused killer, had taken his own life are false. Gulley is alive and well, currently in custody and awaiting trial for the alleged murder of 49-year-old Randall Robinson II from Manteno.
The misleading report sparked a flurry of calls to the sheriff’s department seeking confirmation. However, authorities have confirmed that Gulley remains in custody at the Jerome Combs Detention Center, awaiting his day in court.
The case surrounding the disappearance of Randall Robinson II, a resident of Manteno, took a dark turn in April when Bradley Police discovered his body in a salvage yard in Kankakee County. Robinson was initially reported missing on March 22nd.
Following the discovery of Robinson’s body, Gulley, a Kankakee resident, was arrested and charged with homicide, concealment of a death, and dismemberment of a human body. Gulley remains in custody at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
