BEECHER, Ill. – A heartrending discovery has shaken the residents of Will County: a dog used as a paintball target, wandering in Washington Township near Beecher, seeks justice and a fresh start.

The Will County Animal Control Department is pleading with the community for assistance in unveiling crucial details about this heart-wrenching case of animal cruelty. Found with alarming signs of mistreatment, including a paint-splattered coat, the pooch, named Hermione, showcases the dire consequences of unchecked cruelty.

Responding to a September 27 call about a trapped canine, an Animal Control Officer discovered Hermione — traumatized, bearing paintball marks, infections in both ears, and signs of multiple pregnancies.
