82-year-old Braidwood resident hit, killed by train Friday

BRAIDWOOD – A man is dead after being struck by a train while walking in Braidwood Friday afternoon.

According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, 82-year-old William P. Armstrong of Braidwood was struck by a passing train near the intersection of East Main St and N. Washington Friday afternoon around 3:40 pm.

The incident remains under investigation with Braidwood Police.
