JOLIET, IL – The Joliet Police Department announced on Thursday night that there would be an increased presence of officers at Plainfield South High School during arrival on Friday, April 21st, as a proactive measure. This decision comes after an unsubstantiated threat that had come to their attention, although details of the threat are currently unknown.

The heightened security at the school is a precautionary measure taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff. The Joliet Police Department emphasizes that there is no immediate danger to the community, but they take all threats seriously in order to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
