Small Plane crashes into tree in southern Monee

MONEE – A small plane crash in rural Monee has emergency crews racing to free the pilot.

According to the FAA, it happened sometime around 3:20pm when a single Patterson Glasair II crashed into the tree.  Only the pilot was reported onboard the aircraft.

Peotone is the responding agency in charge at the scene.  No word on what may have caused the crash as both the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board investigate.
