New Lenox, Ill. – A large project for sports enthusiasts is on the horizon with the upcoming construction of a massive multi-sport complex.

The village, in partnership with Silver Cross Hospital, plans to build the complex on 100 acres of land next to the hospital located at I-355.
The complex, designed to cater to a wide range of sports, is set to be a hotspot for athletes from multiple states. It will include eight full-size baseball fields, five soccer fields, and two multi-sport fields. A 50,000 square foot field house will house basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts. The main attraction of the complex will be the main pool, which will feature ten lap lanes, open swimming space, a splash pad, and a 10,000 square foot clubhouse.
In addition to the sports facilities, the site plan includes over 10 acres of prime real estate dedicated to restaurant, retail, and hotel use. With its strategic location at I-355 and I-80, the complex is expected to attract visitors from far and wide, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy.
Design work on the complex is set to begin this year, with tournament play anticipated to begin by 2025. The sports complex is projected to be a major drawcard for sports enthusiasts, providing an avenue for professional and amateur athletes to hone their skills and compete at the highest level.
The complex is one of to major additions to the village expected to be approved Monday, including a partnership with the Kids Work Children’s Museum. The new museum is expected to open in Spring 2024, and construction is projected to cost approximately $4 million, attracting roughly 40,000 visitors per year.
