Lockport, IL – Fire Crews Respond to Incident at Lewis University

Lockport, IL – On Wednesday afternoon, the Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to an incident at Lewis University, located at 1 University Parkway. The alert was raised following reports of smoke on the second floor of a building during the noon hour.

According to the fire department officials, multiple units, including ambulances and engines from Lockport and neighboring communities, were dispatched to the scene. The situation was quickly isolated, and crews worked on ventilation and investigation. Chief 1102 oversaw the response, with additional support from Romeoville and East Joliet stations.

As of now, the cause of the smoke and fire has not been determined. An investigation is underway to ascertain the source and to estimate the damages incurred. No dollar cost or specific cause has been announced yet. There have been no reports of injuries, and further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
