Man found shot in hand in Joliet Wednesday

JOLIET – A man was found shot in the hand on Wednesday night in the city.

Police officers responded to a call about a shooting incident at a residence located in the 1000 block of W. Jefferson St. The officers arrived quickly at the scene and discovered a 38-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound in his hand.

According to the victim, he was shot by another male who was present at the residence, and immediately fled the scene after the incident. The Joliet Police Department is currently investigating the case and urging anyone with any relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

The victim was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s hospital for treatment, where his injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening.
