Man Succumbs to Injuries After Striking Telephone Pole in Solo Crash

VILLA GROVE, IL – In a heart-wrenching incident late Friday night on North County Road 1450 East, a car left its lane around 11:30 p.m. and collided with a telephone pole. 

According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports, the vehicle’s sole occupant, 72-year-old Kenneth W. Clodfelder of Villa Grove, was immediately transported to Carle Foundation Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Champaign County Coroner’s Office are jointly investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.
