Manteno woman dies after car goes airborne on Dan Ryan Expressway

MANTENO – A local woman died Sunday after her car fell off the Dan Ryan Expressway.

According to Illinois State Police, it happened around 2 am Sunday morning after 31-year-old Nicole Betts’ car became airborne after hitting crash barrels separating lanes on outbound I-94 near 29th Street, landing n a parking lot below.

Betts, who lived in Manteno, was pronounced dead later after arriving at a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
