KANKAKEE, Ill. – A Tuesday evening stroll took a dramatic turn when 23-year-old Denise L. Wilson, pushing a baby stroller and accompanied by another individual, fled from officers in a Kankakee alley off of South Indiana Street.

Kankakee Police report Wilson, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, allegedly deserted the stroller with the infant inside in the alley during her escape. Pursuit of the mother led to a nearby gas station on South Indiana where Wilson sought refuge in a back room. Employees aided police to the hiding spot, where Wilson reportedly resisted fiercely, even allegedly spitting on officers.

Now facing multiple battery charges and resisting arrest, Wilson is being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee on a $10,000 bond.
