Naperville bans sale of Assault Weapons

NAPERVILLE – The sale of Assault-style weapons has been banned, within city limits.

The City Council voted on the ban of most high-powered weapons around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.  The ban will still allow for the sale of the weapons to law enforcement officers and members of the military.

Violators of the new law which goes into effect January 1st, could face fines up to $2,500.
