FBI investigating Bank Robbery in Shorewood

SHOREWOOD – A bank robbery early Tuesday morning is now under investigation by the FBI.

According to Shorewood Police, it happened just before 9 a.m. yesterday at Shorewood Bank & Trust at 931 Brookforest Avenue.  Police say they received a 9-1-1 hang up call from the bank.  Reports indicate the suspect came into the bank and jumped over the counter and proceeded to tell the teller to open the drawer to remove money.

No weapons were reported displayed during the robbery.

The suspect has been described as a white male wearing a dark shirt with gray sleeves, gray sweatpants and darkly colored athletic shoes carrying a dark backpack.

Shorewood Police and the FBI are continuing to investigate the case.
