Naperville, IL – Naperville Police Apprehend Chicago Man in Gas Station Theft Case

Naperville, IL – Naperville Police have arrested a Chicago man in connection with a December gas station robbery. 

According to police reports the incident, which took place on Dec. 4, 2023, at a gas station on the 2800 block of Book Road, involved two suspects forcibly entering the store. They caused notable damage, especially to the interior ATM, and stole merchandise and cash valued over $10,000.

The extensive investigation led to the identification and arrest of 30-year-old Christie K. Lopez, residing on the 900 block of E. 83rd Street in Chicago. Lopez was apprehended on Monday and now faces charges including Burglary and Theft, both Class 2 felonies, along with two counts of Criminal Damage to Property, Class 4 felonies.

The efforts to identify the second suspect involved in the Naperville gas station robbery are ongoing.
