Rockford, IL – RFD Battles Intense Blaze on N. Chicago Avenue

Rockford, IL – In the early hours of Friday morning, the Rockford Fire Department (RFD) faced a challenging situation as they responded to a severe residential fire on the 400 block of N. Chicago Avenue. The fire, reported at 3:06 am, presented heavy fire conditions upon the arrival of the first units.

According to the RFD, the intensity of the flames and multiple roof collapses necessitated a defensive approach to combat the fire. As firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, the safety of both the crew and the surrounding community was paramount. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
