Naperville, IL – Teen Leads Over 100mph Police Chase, Crashes into Electric Box

Naperville, IL – A teenager from Gilberts has been detained following a high-speed police chase that ended with him crashing into a Naperville City Electric box. 

According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred on February 17, 2024, around 1:11 a.m., when Naperville police pursued the seventeen-year-old who allegedly engaged in a chase reaching speeds of up to 115 mph. The pursuit, which spanned into Dekalb County, saw the juvenile accused of repeatedly ramming his vehicle into police squad cars to escape an initial containment.

The juvenile is charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and two counts of Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, all Class 4 Felonies. His next court date is scheduled for February 20, 2024, before Judge Chantelle Porter.
