TAZEWELL, TN – A 4-year-old girl and her family are pleading with the public to help them locate a cherished plush bear that was accidentally donated to the local Goodwill.

The bear, described as tie-dye or rainbow colored, holds a special significance as it contains a recording of the child’s late mother’s heartbeat, according to reports from radio station 106.3 FM WRIL.

The heart-wrenching story has garnered attention from multiple media outlets, and the family has been inundated with calls and messages from across the country. The manager of Tazewell Goodwill, where the bear was mistakenly donated, believes that the bear may still be in the Tri-State area and is hopeful for its safe return.

A Facebook post by WRIL features images similar to the missing bear and includes a note from Tazewell Goodwill, offering reimbursement to whoever returns the precious item. The family is urging anyone with information or the bear itself to contact the store at 423-626-1909.

Sadly, similar incidents have occurred in the past. Just last year, a family in Massachusetts experienced a similar mishap when a plush cat containing a vial of a father’s ashes was mistakenly donated to Saver’s. Fortunately, the stuffed animal was eventually returned to the family.

As the search continues for the sentimental Build-A-Bear, the community is coming together to support the grieving family in their quest to find the precious memento. In the midst of their grief, they remain hopeful that their beloved bear will be reunited with them soon.
