New Lenox, IL – The Village of New Lenox is hosting a comprehensive Severe Weather Spotter Training, combined with a Health and Safety Expo and a “Touch-a-Truck” event on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
According to the New Lenox Safe Community Coalition, this educational experience is open to the public and free of charge, with activities starting at 5:00 PM and running through 8:30 PM.
The evening will kick off with the Health and Safety Expo, where around 50 organizations will share valuable resources and information on health, safety, and emergency preparedness. Concurrently, the “Touch-a-Truck” experience will feature a variety of vehicles for families to explore, along with expert demonstrations. The highlight of the event, the Severe Weather Spotter Training, begins at 7:00 PM in the auditorium, offering insights on severe weather patterns, safety measures, and reporting techniques.
