Palos Park, IL – Palos Park Police Department (PPPD) is actively investigating after KKK flyers were found scattered along 86th Ave. last Friday, February 2, 2024. In response, PPPD conducted extensive neighborhood canvassing over the weekend, seeking private video footage and utilizing public platforms, leading to several promising leads. The investigation extends beyond the local community, following tips to other areas.

PPPD has notably increased patrols in residential neighborhoods, aiming to identify the source of the flyers. Despite the flyers’ distribution being legally protected under the First Amendment, the PPPD is treating the matter with utmost seriousness due to public safety concerns. They are in close contact with federal agencies for additional insights and any relevant information for local law enforcement.

Residents have expressed alarm and unease, prompting intensified efforts by PPPD to address the community’s pressing question: why. The investigation continues alongside these heightened patrols, demonstrating the department’s commitment to ensuring safety and addressing community concerns.
