Peoria, IL – Man Wounded in Home Shooting, Police Seek Information

(PEORIA, IL) – A Peoria man was taken to the hospital Sunday night after being shot inside a home, signaling another episode in the city’s ongoing battle with gun violence. 

According to Peoria Police Department reported that the incident happened Sunday, just after 9 p.m., when officers responded to a call on the 1600 block of New York Avenue about a shooting. At the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He told officers that he had been shot by two unidentified men inside a house on the 500 block of E. Pennsylvania Avenue. 

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries not expected to be life-threatening. Police searched the area for the shooters but didn’t find anyone. With no suspects yet identified, the case remains under investigation.
