Peoria, IL – Police Arrest Armed Juvenile After Traffic Stop

Peoria, IL – Peoria Police apprehended a 17-year-old male on Tuesday evening following a traffic stop that escalated into a foot chase.

According to the Peoria Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:16 p.m. near Sheridan and Bartlett when the Special Investigations Division attempted to stop a vehicle. The vehicle eventually halted at Brons and Bourland, where two male juveniles fled on foot from the passenger side while the driver sped away.

Police quickly apprehended one juvenile, discovering a loaded handgun in his possession. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. The other juvenile and the driver remain at large.
