According to official reports, authorities attempted to halt 18-year-old Collin W. Coveyou for an equipment violation. However, Coveyou allegedly initiated a chase rather than complying, leading deputies through a daring pursuit. The incident concluded when Coveyou ceased his vehicle in the 100 block of South Central in Gilman.

The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police have charged Coveyou with Aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving without insurance, and multiple traffic violations, marking a significant legal hurdle for the young driver.
