LAPORTE, IN — In a shocking revelation reminiscent of a Hollywood thriller, the LaPorte County Drug Task Force (LCDTF) and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Chicago Field Division unveiled details of their operation, codenamed “Tiger King”, which thwarted a chilling “Murder for Hire” plot.
According to Michigan City Police reports, Daniel Shaffer, 45, of La Porte, is behind bars after a meticulous joint operation exposed his alleged sinister plot to murder two local residents.
Undercover agents met with Shaffer multiple times in jail, confirming his intentions and gathering irrefutable evidence against him.
Charged with 2 counts each of Attempted Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Shaffer’s bond is pegged at $100,000. His trial is slated for September 22nd, 2023.
