HIGHLAND PARK – After a bomb threat at Red Oak Elementary and other incidents, The Uvalde Foundation For Kids has launched its STOP NOW Volunteer School Patrols.

Inspired by the 1980s Guardian Angels in NYC, these patrols enhance school perimeter safety. Set to debut in 2023/2024 at schools like Nashville’s Covenant School and Choctaw High in Oklahoma, volunteers will undergo training in situational awareness and CPR.

Although unarmed, their presence aims to deter threats. Interested volunteers can sign up at The Uvalde Foundation For Kids.
