Romeoville, IL – A journey through Will County’s agrarian past begins March 1 with the debut of the “Raising Riverview” exhibit at the Isle a la Cache Museum in Romeoville. This special showcase, offered by the Forest Preserve District of Will County, explores the agricultural history of the Riverview Farmstead Preserve in Naperville, marking a tribute to early Wheatland Township settlers.

According to the Forest Preserve District, the exhibit, running until May 31, features the Clow family’s endeavors from the 1800s, situated along the DuPage River in what is now southern Naperville. Through a display of historical tools and narratives, visitors will gain insight into the evolution of this land from a vast prairie to a thriving farm and finally, a picturesque preserve.

Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays, the exhibit promises a free, engaging experience for families. Located at 501 E. Romeo Road (135th St.), Romeoville, the museum also encourages guests to further explore the Riverview Farmstead Preserve, featuring guided tours and other complementary programs such as the “Armchair Historians – Riverview Farmstead” session on March 20, and a Riverview Farmstead Tour on April 20.

This educational endeavor is supported by The Nature Foundation of Will County, highlighting the museum staff’s commitment to preserving and sharing the rich agricultural history of the area.
