Severe Storms Unleash 63 MPH Winds and Quarter-Sized Hail Across Northwest Illinois

Rock Falls, IL – Northwest Illinois was hit hard by severe weather on Tuesday, resulting in significant damage due to wind gusts reaching 63 mph and hail up to one inch in diameter. 

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities reported that the storms moved through the region in multiple rounds, starting before dawn and extending into the evening.

According to detailed assessments, the storms downed numerous trees and power lines, causing disruptions and damage to properties. Local emergency services were actively responding to the aftermath, which included clearing fallen trees from roads and restoring electricity in affected areas. Residents are encouraged to stay updated through local media and the National Weather Service for further advisories and recovery information.
