Shooter on the Loose After Two-Block Argument Ends in Gunfire in Kankakee

KANKAKEE, Ill. – Residents are on high alert as authorities search for an armed suspect following a Sunday morning shooting. 

City Police responded to reports of shots fired at 1:20 am in the 700 block of North Dearborn Avenue. A 37-year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at a local hospital. 

The suspect, allegedly engaged in a two-block argument with the victim, managed to evade capture. 

The community is urged to provide any information to the city police to aid in the investigation.
