Firefighters and sanitation workers have come up with a unique solution to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the Italian Alps.
Snow cannons.
The agencies are using snow cannons from local ski slopes to spread disinfectant around local villages, then attached to a truck and driven around towns disinfecting roads, walls and buildings.
When in normal use, snow cannons are used at ski resorts to extend the natural course of the normal ski season by supplementing natural snow across the slopes.
