Organizers of the annual Bourbonnais Friendship Festival have yet to decide if this year’s festivities will in fact, go on.

The annual summertime event dates back over four decades.

As of March 30th, organizers had not canceled or ruled out the possibility of delaying the event.

“The Bourbonnais Friendship Festival currently plans to go on as scheduled June 24-28,” said Lindy Casey, Marketing & Public Engagement Manager for the Village of Bourbonnais earlier this month.

The Friendship Festival runs five days and marks an unofficial kickoff to summer on the Municipal Center grounds in Bourbonnais featuring a carnival, concerts, contests, car show, an annual 5k parade and grand parade.

On Thursday, organizers of the annual Momence Glad Days announced the cancelation of their annual festival for the first time since 1937.

That festival is annually held in August.
