Southern Michigan Braces for 60mph Winds, Hail on Sunday Evening

Grand Rapids, MI – Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through southern Michigan on Sunday afternoon and evening, bringing potential wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, the storms will progress from southwest to northeast, with the greatest risk occurring between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. While the likelihood of damaging winds exceeding 60 mph is low, gusts between 30 to 50 mph are possible. The NWS advises seeking shelter indoors when lightning is observed or thunder is heard.
