Springfield, IL – With the deadline looming, Illinois residents are hurrying to submit their applications for the first lottery of firearm and muzzleloader deer permits.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that applications for the coveted permits must be submitted by tomorrow. The lottery, exclusive to Illinois residents, offers a chance to participate in the prized deer hunting season.

According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, this initial lottery phase is critical for hunters eager to secure their spot for the upcoming season. Applications are open only until April 30, and all paperwork must be physically present in the office by this date. Subsequent lottery dates are scheduled from May 13 through June 30.

Hunters are advised to visit the department’s information page and complete their applications at ExploreMoreIL.com. With such a narrow window remaining, applicants are encouraged to finalize their submissions to ensure their participation in the upcoming deer hunting seasons.
