According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on the 300 block of Avenue A at around 8:23 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a single vehicle had veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle’s lone occupant, a 41-year-old Springfield resident, was extricated by the Springfield Fire Department and transported to Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek.
