Streator, IL – Investigation Underway After Shots Fired at Resident Near Own Garage

Streator, IL – A concerning incident unfolded Wednesday night when a resident of Streator was shot at near his own garage. 

According to reports, the resident noticed a group of three males loitering around his property on the 500 block of South Illinois St. around 9:41 p.m. and decided to follow them in his vehicle to the area of Southside Diamonds. During the pursuit, one of the individuals in the group allegedly opened fire, striking the resident’s vehicle with two bullets. 

The Streator Police Department confirmed that two bullet casings were recovered from the scene, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made yet. They caution residents against pursuing suspicious individuals and advise reporting any dubious behavior to the police.
