MORRIS – A teen has been indicted on 14 felony charges after reportedly shooting a woman twice in the back of the head and later stealing her car.

The unnamed 16-year-old minor was indicated by a Grundy County grand jury Wednesday on multiple charges, including Murder, Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking, and Vehicle Highjacking.

At the time of the incident, the teen was reportedly trying to solicit a ride in the 400 block of Twilight Drive near an Apartment complex. The teen is accused of shooting 25-year-old Beverly Lambert of Shorewood inside an apartment complex hallway around 4:20 p.m. on August 4th and later stealing her car.

The teen was later arrested in Joliet.

Lambert had been at the complex to pick up her child from a babysitter.  The incident lead to an alert that lock down the City of Morris for a short time.

Prosecutors in the case say Lambert and the teen did not know each other.  The teen is being held on $5 Million bond at River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
