Teen Hospitalized, Home Damaged in Kankakee Drive-by Shooting

Kankakee, IL – A 17-year-old was hospitalized after being shot in the foot during a drive-by shooting in Kankakee on Saturday evening, which also resulted in property damage. 

According to police reports Kankakee City Police were alerted to gunfire around 8 p.m. near the intersection of South Osborn and East Hickory Streets. Upon arrival, they discovered the teenager who reported being targeted by shots from a passing vehicle while walking along the 400 block of South Osborn.

Investigating officers found multiple shell casings from both a pistol and a rifle at the scene. Additionally, a homeowner in the 1500 block of East Hickory reported that his garage and car were struck by bullets. The injured teen was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
